Testing, Testing, 1 2 3

The school held a zoominar (zoom) today about testing in year 2. Phonics, Key Stage 2. The focus was how the school will do everything it can to support the children, ensuring a safe space to sit the tests so they are not intimidated, and a low key approach to reduce stress and worry. It wasn’t even very clear whether you would be told the result or not. Anyway, nothing to be concerned about at all.

The elephant in the room was never addressed; will my child will pass or fail? That’s all parents really want to know, isn’t it?

They should hold a zoominar for the children, to provide reassurance that the school is doing everything it can to support their parents, ensuring a safe space to be told about the tests so they are not intimidated, and a low key approach to reduce stress and worry. Nothing to be concerned about at all.

That would still leave an elephant in the room, but a different one; will my parents care if I pass or fail? That’s all the kids really want to know, isn’t it?
