Facebook on holiday

Yesterday evening, lying in our hired holiday cottage (very much a cottage) bed thinking I deserved more than this, I had one of those dangerous danders though Facebook that leave you hot and cold.

All my mates, having a great time. Friends with older kids now holidaying alone again (nudge and a wink). Friends with children who ‘are just loving’ holiday club (nudge and a wink). Friends with babies who adjusted straight away to the heat and time difference and sleeping like, well like babies (nudge and a wink). Friends with no kids who continue their part-adventurous-part-first-class-comfort (because they can afford it) travels around the world. One friend is enjoying their ‘second time diving in the Maldives’ and it’s ‘just as amazing as we remember’.

The smiles. The sun tans. The sites. The wine. The sundowners. The poolside. The late breakfasts. The afternoon snoozes. They are all there for me to see.

Thank you.
