Face mask or not, the school gate is … well … a challenge. I’m not really ready to go public at that time of day. It is all I can do to get the girls ready, and now that we have to queue outside and have temperature checks, it’s just not the quick in and out that it used to be.
This morning I made a special effort. I got up twenty minutes earlier than everyone else (and in this household, that is early) washed hair and dressed in clothes that I might actually wear for the rest of the day, and be happy to answer the door in. I wish I’d stuck to my ‘just-going-for-a-run-in-the-woods-that’s-why-I’m-wearing-old-joggers-and-hoodie’ outfit (even if the run itself was pretty rare). These were the comments I got;
“Not going running today?”
“That’s a lovely top, did you iron it?” (I was even wearing a coat, it’s winter, and only the collar of the top could be seen.)
“You’re brave I can never go out without blow drying my hair.”
“I used to have that coat.”
“You look different… did you wash you hair?”
Jogging pants tomorrow.
